Original names, so what? In Warhammer AoS, they came up with calling Orcs "Orruks" and Dwarfs "Duardins." But here, even though it's inspired by Lovecraft, it's still an original creature. It's just that calling them "Sea Jellyfish," "Glista," and "Sausage with Wings" doesn't quite fit! Lovecraft originally had a Shoggoth, for example. And so, an unpleasant encounter with Lovecraft might await you: 1) in Baldur's Gate 3. And right in the first scene of the game, it'll shove something into your eye. Because Illithids in DnD are inspired by Lovecraft. 2) in Warcraft, even in the original Frozen Throne, not just WoW. 3) in the famous Bloodborne, which is basically all Lovecraftian horror. 4) in the latest Doom. 5) and in other games from FromSoftware too, but not as prominently as in Bloodborne. And that's just what I remembered off the top of my head. And that's without counting games directly based on Lovecraft. Moreover, not only computer games, but also tabletop games, and role-playing games.
