For those who want purely one-night or two-night stands, yeah. They really need it.

But otherwise, I know an example of a guy who, at around ~45-50, hooked up with my acquaintance who's 45+ (well, she's older now, this was about 5 years ago). She has a gorgeous figure (yeah yeah, tits, ass, waist, everything in place), and she's very good-looking in the face (she takes great care of her beauty, sinks a lot of money into maintaining her good looks). On top of that, she has a great sense of style and a genuinely excellent wardrobe. Plus she's pleasant to talk to and not a bitch.
The guy turned out to be married to a 50+ hag (she's definitely at least 5 years older than him, maybe more), with not the most pleasant looks, who doesn't give a damn about taking care of herself. And like, they have no kids together, no jointly acquired property. Reasons to stay with her are literally 0. Quite the opposite — he constantly complained to my acquaintance about what a disgusting woman she is and why the hell he even married her back then. But when the hottie got tired of being a mistress and asked him directly whether he'd leave his wife and be with her — the guy bailed. Or rather, he first tried to keep sitting on two chairs, but when he realized there was only one choice, he preferred the crappy wife. Even though you'd think it'd be obvious.
