That's strange, Corenek is strong, and his army is above average. And there haven't been any complaints about Orrin, if people were suffering, it was during the previous wave. Perhaps there's just a lack of a powerful spellcaster. I would have mentored him instead of Logi, but still, Corenek should win here. What's going on? Is there some excessive initiative roll in Orrin's favor? Or is he highly resistant to spells?
