When the battle began, the kill count quickly reached dozens, as the creatures were so fragile and weak. Nevertheless, they understood something about the strategy of overwhelming with numbers. They might not be able to pierce Treebeard's armor, but they could certainly knock him down and overwhelm him. No matter how fiercely the valiant guards fought, two of them were clearly not enough. And even though Keraak was quite skilled in the school of Water magic, he couldn't cast ice arrows fast enough. The fact that some of the townspeople risked attacking the creatures from the rear, sacrificing their own lives for the lives of the guards, didn't help much either.
Probably, everything would have ended badly... if three completely drunk northerners hadn't appeared from a dark alley.
– Hic... look, brother, some shorties are beating up the guards...
– Hic... yeah... I don't like them... those... bread-cutters... hic... they're waiting for my beautiful fist!
– Let's smash them!
– Yes! Hic...
With the fury of berserkers, three northerners rushed into the attack on the creatures.
Meanwhile, with Nebos:
– Would you believe me if I told you that this creature is me? – the stranger smiled slyly. – It's all about desire and stubbornness. But I don't think you can repeat it.
