In a battle of 7 griffins against 7 ghosts, the tactic for the ghosts is: griffins wait, ghosts DEFEND. However, starting with 7 vs. 7, the outcome of the battle begins to favor the griffins.

I clearly see that it says, "I conducted battles, both 1-on-1 and with the basic increase. In total...". So what is this "total" if, in a 1-on-1 battle, the unit ranks first, but in the final table, it's in seventh place?!
