- Her Highness, the First Princess, could... But no one knows where she is now...
-- I agree with Alaria, we haven't exhausted our options yet. Regarding my ability, it's not mine; the Sovereign taught me this technique... Perhaps there's logic in that, considering how She managed to find us. Okay, let me take a moment to brainstorm.
Erefir uses a roll of 30 Intelligence to, based on her current knowledge of Margel, determine the theoretical degree of futility of the following options (futile/potentially useful, but needs checking):
Search Options
- SRI: it's not certain that there are hunters there, but what about guard dogs? Has she ever seen any? It seems logical that they would have them for such a purpose (perhaps one in Carneol).
- Margel Police: the same question, although dealing with the guards isn't very appealing, given their past failures, but it needs to be considered. Or is there reason to believe they aren't very good at tracking, only patrolling?
- Hunter's Guild: it's a guild, right? Can a guild consist of only one unfortunate Pheasant? But during the three months Erefir spent wandering around the city, gradually getting to know the people, was anyone there, or not?
- Chronos: can a drone from there conduct reconnaissance? Does that mean they can also find a runaway person? In theory, that should be its main purpose...
- Worker's and Adventurer's Guilds: at first glance, a very good idea from Alaria, but do they keep records of members? Can they provide information about the necessary skills?
- AMM: it seems that they don't teach search magic there, but that doesn't mean that no one there knows it, right?
- Does Martin from Pam-Param accidentally have hunting abilities? He is a Kumarian veteran.
- What about our great detective, Dionysus? If he finds out which woman was kidnapped, he would gladly rush to help track down the perpetrator... If his skills are even slightly related to that, which is unlikely.
Combat Options
- Where could Kilika have gone? Where does she usually go? It seems like it should have been possible to understand her habits by now. She has mastered Serenity, so she couldn't have fled to Yansi... She doesn't have money for restaurants or shops. Does she like to wander around? Does she have any friends, like that girl from Vishenka?
- There may also be mages among the servants. And medics. More precisely, there are definitely mages, summoners, but we need combatants... We need to ask Sir... Will he introduce himself? And it seems that the servants are supposed to protect the villa, but there is nothing and no one left to protect, given the devastation, so it would be worth taking a couple of them so that they can fulfill their duty honestly and completely. But we'll tell them that ourselves, if it comes to that.
- The SRI might also provide reinforcements, but it seems that if it's not Draco Mellis, there won't be much point, and Draco Mellis must not be separated from the Holy See.
- Drones in Chronos are theoretically useful in terms of area damage with bombs.
- Magic hours in Chronos. If Kilika can't be found, and there are no other mages, then this is an important theoretical asset (although there is no money for anything, what a surprise).
I think that's all. It's not a lot, but it's not as much as I would like. Now we need to filter by reasonableness and send different Carneolians to different places.
(answers don't have to be given for all options; some are more obvious, some are less. The main questions are about the SRI, the Hunter's Guild, drones, worker-adventurers, and Kilika.)
