Revan and Ment are too experienced to be so obvious targets for the mafia; they probably want to expose the mafia members who would start agreeing with them (sorry for revealing this plan, but since there's no rush to cast votes anyway).

No, it doesn't look the same; you're just messing around too... The Captain's rival is mentioned in the lore; his name is Barbossa. It explicitly states that Barbossa led a mutiny against Jack and was captain for a while (but not anymore).
The red dot is a clue about the method of murder. There's no swamp creature in the lore. Definitely. Okay, based purely on the image, one could say that the swamp creature is the "Thwack," because it resembles a Kikimora, but that's just a guess; it simply has algae on its head, which grows in any body of water. And again, there are no swamp creatures in the lore.
So...
