It seems that Wessel caused problems for at least someone; usually, people write the opposite. The map can be completed relatively quickly, although I personally don't enjoy speedruns. Wessel's army depends on the time.
If you kill the witch, she will die. And nothing will happen anymore. The quest simply won't appear. The witch's original mechanics were harsher: only Aranthir could use her. But over time, I changed this and placed more emphasis on mentoring and secondary necromancers. So, it's up to the player: constantly mess around with mentoring, closing the portal, or give most of the army to the second hero to intimidate Giovanni. Both methods are very effective.
Liches and other mysterious characters are just decoration and a kind of parody of the map design, where there is still a lot of essentially empty space.
Zephyr also supposedly betrayed Markel, leading to his final death... but in the end, he soon encountered him again. When Giovanni is killed, Aranthir performs a very specific animation, which can be interpreted in different ways. I decided to perceive it as the capture of souls. Giovanni is a very important character for my story, and we will see him again soon...
Thank you for the Walkthrough
