Later, Varya tells Futabe that Vita Pleiona might be interested in joining the disciplinary committee:
-- I understand what your decision might be based on, considering that Vita's proposal regarding the committee came before the known events, and in the new circumstances, her willingness to cooperate... is not obvious, just like any other student. However, in a personal conversation, it became clear to me that the situation is as I described. Don't think, though, that I'm pushing you towards any decision, as your reasons might be different.
-- Besides, she herself sought a conversation with you, but it didn't work out, and I can't be sure if she really doesn't know any other way besides friendly duels, or if she lacks the courage to ask direct questions, given your status.
"In general, I would have announced directly that I am the queen, instead of attracting unfriendly glances and multiplying suspicions, I don't know why you're hesitating..." - this was slightly read in Varya's gaze, but she just sighed again out of habit.
-- By the way, you and I shared third and fourth place in the Tournament... And although it would have been better to meet in the final... Perhaps it's not bad that we are neighbors again? Ahem. Okay. Regarding the proposals, I tried to work on the idea of a quest board, now the next one, regarding the questions that Leila asked.
Varya's proposal regarding the martial arts club:
Martial Arts Club
Requirements: basic proficiency in melee weapons, interest in development
Activities:
- improving combat techniques (progress through OS or Reiki instead of experience)
- creating new combat techniques (within individual skills or within beliefs, for OS or Reiki)
- team combat competitions
- improving spirit and body
Additionally: a contract with a craftsman or blacksmith would allow club members to order weapons and armor tailored to their needs, using a simplified scheme (relevant because the standard price of "Ira's Arsenal" is too high for most).
Additionally 2: thematically, dueling tournaments would be more suitable for the club than team combat competitions, and team combat competitions could be made an exam for the entire Academy: to diversify and generate interest among a larger number of people whose one-on-one combat skills may not be high, but in combat with a large number of allies and opponents, new potential may be revealed.
Nevertheless, I find both options adequate.
-- That's how it is... Author
- These are very good proposals, even spending OS for self-development seems absolutely fair. As for the deadlines, it is unlikely that a person who needs help will need it for three months in a row, but... who knows?
