My opinion almost coincides with the opinion of L'Garold and Leonion.
KillAndAction, your position is clear, but if we choose the option proposed by L'Garold and Leonion, then a number of difficulties arise, related to the organization of the process itself. The mechanism for running contests for modders is unclear.

I myself am a modder, and I have been modding games like Gothic 2 (I also participated in the translation of two large mods from German), Warband, Battle Brothers, and several others to a lesser extent, for many years. And for me, free modding has always been an axiom, and I categorically reject any payment, even in the form of voluntary donations. Moreover, I am against the commercial creative industry in principle.
Creation is something that people do for their own pleasure, realizing their own dreams and desires. If this (a book, a mod, a song, a YouTube video) is released publicly and becomes popular, then a pleasant bonus is the gratitude of those who also liked it, and in special cases - fame.
Money has no place here, unless the project itself requires material investment (such as films, which require huge funds for scenery, costumes, etc.)
Option 3. When the Initiator and Performer are the same person - a mapmaker or modder who wants to bring their long-held dream to life, but for this, they need technical support. This refers to the case when, for example, the author wants to create an interesting campaign, but for this, they need help in the form of creating videos, writing dialogues, help with scripts, etc. In this case, the help will be of a technical nature, not financial. This also applies to the creation of global modifications.
Option 4. When the Initiator of the mod or map development is a forum member, and the Performer is a modder or mapmaker, who is willing to complete the order completely free of charge, without requiring any help or support. Because he himself is the embodiment of help and support! Honor and respect to such heroes!

No, this guy has been on the forum for many years. Just a new account.
He has had many accounts. But he is best known as atlant108. He is a booster of activity on the forum, which incredibly annoyed some moderators. And also some users. On the other hand, he has never done anything bad. As far as I remember.
I am, of course, pleased that I was mistaken for a veteran and an old-timer of the forum, which is what the user atlant108 is, who registered on the forum on December 22, 2015, but I am not atlant108 and I am new to the forum. Therefore, I do not claim the role of fundraiser. Perhaps, the respected KillAndAction will agree to this role. In addition, this person has extensive experience in organizing and running tournaments and contests. And that is exactly what is needed. You can't find a better candidate
