Find a spot among a large group of plainly dressed and generally unremarkable people, except for their tendency to shout and bang their mugs loudly. They've taken up several tables, but you might be able to squeeze onto a bench in the corner. Sit near the players. There's a crowd around them, and you'll have to sit almost in the corner, hunched over, but at least they probably won't bother you. Find a spot among the diverse crowd. You'll find a place, but besides the real crowd of girls hanging around them, there are two guys beating each other up right now. A dubious gathering... Settle into the darkest corner and try not to stand out. But someone's already sitting there, and they might not appreciate the company. Finally, you can stand at the edge of the counter. Chat with the bartender, get insults from everyone.
Assessing the likelihood of getting useful information from the shouters, players, or fighters, Dunkaniell decided that it was best to be at the edge of the counter. Of course, the blows might affect his work tomorrow, but so what? He's not a superior race, can't he handle some monkeys? And even if there weren't reasons to be stubborn, there are. As long as his family is missing somewhere, there are definitely reasons to endure.
This, of course, flashed through his mind unconsciously as the "goblin" shifted, settling in more comfortably and preparing to dodge the blows. Not too obtrusively, of course, so as not to provoke his tormentors. He could occasionally make funny movements or even stumble and fall to the floor; it doesn't really matter.
-- They're bullying me, -- he said to the bartender after another "incident." -- Oh, if I could just fight, I'd give them a piece of my mind, and they'd leave me alone, but who would teach me... -- the ugly creature sighed.
