This was the custom in their craft, and a young blacksmith from the capital used his days off to visit Illia, see what's what in this province, visit the sea, do some sports, and rest his body and soul. Arriving in one of Illia's cities called Merkopia, he was pleasantly surprised to discover that a beauty contest is held here on the first of every month, and admission as a spectator is free. Well then...
1.
An interesting girl, but there's a feeling of disproportion... Probably an anomaly, nothing else. Besides the unfortunate shoulders of the girl, her outfit caused some, very serious, concerns – one could only hope that its fastenings wouldn't fail.

The blacksmith has traveled a lot in Vesteria and seen many things, and despite all this... Perhaps, he rarely encounters anything like this. Formally, her face was clearly simpler than the best Serberian beauties, but this surprisingly combined with the image – warm, summery, pleasant... And extremely gentle. The girl behaved modestly, it was felt that this contest was her first, but this did not prevent her from experimenting, which manifested itself in a careful play with facial expressions at the right moments. The blacksmith could say that she is a little plump for his taste, but... Frankly, in this summer dress, and with such a presentation – participant number 2 definitely turned a disadvantage into an advantage, managing to get very close to the most delightful images that the blacksmith knew.
And isn't it nice to watch someone who eats well?

The choice of a light summer dress showed that participant number 3 thinks similarly to the second, although her type was fundamentally different. Here, there was a Meristian light beauty. The miniature elf seemed to ask for protection with her appearance, but it could also be noticed that the expression on her face was somewhat too frightened. Was there a reason for this in the form of a contest unfamiliar to her, or was she acutely experiencing the disturbing events taking place in her probable homeland? It's hard to say. But still, noting her beauty, the blacksmith also noted that it would be better for her not to participate in such events, but to try to rest from any kind of stress in order to somehow escape from the gloom.

Cheerful, friendly, sunny... Perhaps, the feeling of summer style was the strongest among all the participants, and the blacksmith also had a weakness for red hair. However, the paint on the skin was a minus...

Public opinion usually calls such faces "melancholy," "feminine," "mysterious," but no matter how hard the blacksmith tried to understand their beauty, he couldn't. It seemed that participant number 5 specifically emphasizes all the ugliest features of her face: too large lips are painted with bright lipstick, too small eyes are outlined with mascara, and therefore (contrary to popular belief) they seem even smaller. Eyebrows, which by nature (looking at the hair) should be light and airy in order to somehow compensate for the overall sharpness of the face, are also dyed... Alas, there were no complaints about manners and everything else, but overall the impression was not pleasant.

Another red-haired beauty. Among others, she stood out for her exceptionally good, flexible, trained figure, clear and strict face... Although somewhere clearly too strict and unemotional, perhaps. The choice of tight sportswear and the demonstration of her weapon to show a warrior nature was respected, and this could not be ignored.

Looking at participant number 7, the blacksmith initially thought that his cousin had somehow signed up for the contest... Who seemed to be 12 or so. Fortunately, no. And, although the blacksmith had nothing against youth, such a schoolgirl image seemed like an overkill to him.

There were fewer and fewer white-haired girls in the world, so the blacksmith was slightly surprised to see a second representative of this type at one contest. Unfortunately, he couldn't call her charismatic. Mainly – because of the expression on her face, which seemed simultaneously sad-lost and slightly crazy, even somewhere frightening. Perhaps she didn't want to participate in the contest at all? Well, she could be beautiful and hold herself beautifully, she has the data for it, but let her excuse him for the average score.

Participant number 9 knew how to emphasize her face, which seemed flawless, if not for a couple of details. Yes, the eyebrows, which look a little too "cunning," and the scar on her right cheek, somewhat spoiled the overall excellent impression, but it was also clear that the girl is trying very hard to turn these minuses into her pluses, and skillfully uses cosmetics and everything necessary for this. The outfit in the style of an "imperial mage" was also chosen with taste, although it seemed a little heavy in the summer. As if the glowing blue eyes finally made it clear that the girl could not fail to be one of the favorites.

Such vampire-like or other unholy images did not particularly inspire the blacksmith, to say the least. No, he was not a xenophobe, but it was much better when all sorts of horned ones try to come to civilization and humanism and move away from their dark nature, this was commendable and would deserve a very high score. But when ordinary girls try to look like evil witches, he doesn't understand it.
And yet, relatively good data did not allow him to bring the score down to zero.

The blacksmith put his sheet with scores in the ballot box and went about his business. Today he saw something pleasant that will improve his mood for a long time. Thank you to this city for such an opportunity.
It's difficult, of course, to judge when players are interested, but I tried to be more or less "as usual."
