Gullveig sat down right on the ground. That was it. It seemed that none of the characters would ever be the same again. The voice of Jan Dere echoed in her head, saying that karma and the intervention of higher powers do not exist, but she tried to dismiss it. Looking at the baron, she said, "I'll take something to the post office and be back soon," and headed to the post office (perhaps in this small town it was the same building where they hired carriages).
There, she sends a letter and a package with "pazori" to Sir Theodahad in Marion.
"Sir Theodahad, I am a dishonorable and low person. If we ever meet, please execute me. Your sister suffered because of me, and I don't know how else I can earn forgiveness from her and from you. However, even that would not be enough."
She sends it and returns to the baron.
