It was a tough battle. Vegi was pleased to note that she had clearly become much stronger than the dendroids they had fought not so long ago, but even so, her first opponent, Dieter, was a surprise. The spiritual shield stopped the swordsman's attacks, but cuts still remained on her body. In the end, the opponent from Eugen didn't last long, but he made Gulveig much more vulnerable and started a countdown for her.
"Tick-tock, tick-tock... I can't hope to wait on the sidelines any longer! Mother, I'm going on the attack!"
Understanding this, or perhaps showing solidarity, Eir ran past the arcanist and unleashed her saber attacks on Gerard. He was a tough guy, but it was clear that he wouldn't last long.
"Sorry, Eir," Vegi thought. "I have an important goal, a very serious one! And, although I love you, I'm going to try not to give in to you!" - and she attacked the animist. The first blow - no effect, but that's how it should be. The main thing is to hit again and win her prize.
Unfortunately, it didn't work out. Perhaps Eir was too enraged by such a sneaky attack, but she started dodging like crazy (not that it was impossible to dodge both attacks). Soon the battle was over, partly due to the saber blows, and partly (and largely) due to the bleeding.
Waking up, Gulveig was surprised to find that she had still managed to take third place. Later, when (and if) she had the opportunity, the girl thanked all her opponents for a good fight, and also congratulated Eir, Renold, and Kalentia (well, the latter with some regret that her friend couldn't climb a little higher, although she had a chance).
Then she thanked her Mother in her thoughts and reflected on the experience gained (armor - level 5, remaining 230 experience).
