Eugene Grimm was not found in his tent, but locating him proved easy — the knight was bent over a creature felled by Adalard's tactics, doing something to it... Drawing closer, Stefania discovered that he was not, in fact, doing anything indecent — only something revolting: first he sawed off the horns growing from the woman's head, then cut out both of her eyes. The warrior women standing around (whom he had apparently tasked moments earlier with clearing the rubble) winced, groaned, and gasped at such a spectacle, but nothing prepared them for the next act. The lord's nephew brought his neat, long fingers to his own eye socket and, overcoming a fleeting hesitation, removed his own eye. During this action, only a barely audible groan escaped his lips.
- Aaah-a-a-a-aaaah! My lord, what are you doing! Your eye! Your eye! - Shani fell to her knees and clutched her head. - Stop!
- Are you stupid or what? - asks Murdera, the only one of the five who had not lost her composure. - It's a bit late to stop anything now.
- My lord... - Shevretta burst into tears at the sight. - Why would you do such a thing...
- Silence. - The short but stern command of the Knight of the Rusting Soul was carried out instantly, albeit not perfectly — the weeping women had to cover their mouths with their hands. As his next action, the knight placed the eye he had earlier removed from the Ikazkan woman into his own socket. Holding one palm against the wounded side of his face, he addressed Manka. - Heal me, or it won't fuse properly.
- A-as you command.
The Sylian spell does its work, and after some time Eugene returns to normal. First, he makes sure he can move the new organ without pain and tests his vision.
- Splendid. It will take some time to get used to, but no unforeseen difficulties should arise. - Having finished his task, he finally acknowledged the existence of the Knight of the Wind. - Stefania, the left one remains — do you want it for yourself?
Shinma's Right Eye
-5 to aesthetics, -5 to reason.
At the start of the turn, explodes enemies within 12 tiles of the character with no possibility of healing (spirit check). On the surface, the range of this effect is reduced to 6.
At the sight of all this unfolding spectacle, Stefania wanted to wince in disgust, but with great effort she suppressed the impulse, keeping her composure on her face. Eugene had surprised her before with his penchant for doing all sorts of crazy things, but this was too much. The main thing was, he gave no thought to the possible consequences ahead. Though, thanks to Manka's efforts, the "prosthesis" fit well enough. But it looked, to put it mildly, not very encouraging.
— I shall decline, — the girl replied dryly to the Knight of the Rusting Soul's offer to perform a similar operation on herself. — I prefer my own eyes.
