Publishers have always been throwing a wrench in the works. Ever since the concept of a publisher came into existence. The fifth game miraculously turned out to be a good entry. Ubisoft was already messing around back in 2005. It's just that there are publishers who don't particularly interfere with the creative process. Or with politics. They simply make money. From the shadows. And everything works out great for them. That doesn't mean they aren't greedy corporations. They're just not that stupid.
