An ordinary criminal, after being caught, either tries to prove his innocence or justify himself (like, yes, it happened, but it wasn't me, life is tough), or (at least in words) repents.
And only someone like the person in the link above will calmly argue that, from his point of view, his crime is not a crime at all – after all, everything is fine, he didn't kill anyone...
