The Medusa is good... but still, the Minotaur is somewhat better. In Equilibris, the Minotaur's block is increased to 40% (block chance)!
Therefore, with the right tactics, you can tear the enemy apart.

Everything is absolutely correct! The Minotaur is better than it seems at first glance. I remember there was some battle with a neutral Dungeon faction unit, and my small squad of Minotaurs, bought as a backup (no more than 10), in an outer dwelling, withstood the onslaught of superior enemy forces, distracting their attention.
By the way, Minotaurs have a better chance of severely damaging 2 or more Black Dragons (a trick) than other monsters. The problem is that sacrificing a second-level unit might be a waste.
