Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
After watching half of the first arc, I wanted to write a review in the spirit of "it's amazing how this thing can be so mature (in terms of rating) and so childish and primitive (in terms of plot)."
But no, that would be a mistake. Somewhere in the middle of the first arc and halfway through the second, I actually enjoyed watching it because the psychology seemed quite vivid. Then it faded, of course, and ended with all sorts of epic stuff that Kosha writes about: galaxies and all that. It looks crazy... Is such trash good? It's hard to say. On the one hand, there's a clear comedic element and unserious scenery, and on the other hand, there's an attempt to cram a considerable amount of dramatic moments into it, and as a result, it's unclear how to perceive the result... And whether the creators even intended these moments to be parodic and comedic. It seems I reported something similar about "Slayers!"
In general, I don't share the enthusiasm about throwing galaxies around, but overall it's still a good thing, and it was worth watching.
7.5/10 (I'll round down to seven on MAL in this case).

But if Fullmetal Alchemist had these elements on top of everything good that's already in it, wouldn't it just be better?

For some reason, I reread this conversation and remembered.
Because in FMA: B there was exactly one fanservice scene for the entire series, but it's the one that is still remembered. Because it's done well, like a cherry on a magnificent cake, and it looks completely appropriate and not vulgar.
The complete opposite of those series for which fanservice is the second "I," but its abundance only leads to facepalms, not to improving the spectacle.
