is it possible to disable the "gift" spells from achievements?

Unfortunately, no. I tried to compensate for spending a turn on a spell by shifting the hero further along the initiative scale, but it only works for average initiative values. With certain combinations of hero and army initiative, the turn after the spell becomes later than if it hadn't been cast.

I have to admit that this is my mistake. Due to an error in the code check, Y coordinates within the range of 46 to 47 are not recognized.
