I had the same problem: the scenario loading page would appear, and then the game would crash. I have the same graphics card. Installing the patches helped. The game started with terrible lag, but I also have very little RAM (only 256 MB), so it might be due to that. But the texture glitches in the elven and mage castles still don't get fixed. I think I need to upgrade my graphics card. I tried installing the latest drivers for it, but it didn't help. I'm planning to replace the graphics card soon and will write about the results.
