I rarely watch non-animated series, but this one was great.
+ Many details, including the real names of the people involved, even the firefighters, not to mention the leaders.
+ Legasov
+ The heroism of the diverse professions involved in the cleanup is well portrayed.
+ And also – the atmosphere of the Soviet Union and its absurd secrecy.
+ And yet, I can't accuse it of having too much historical inaccuracy.
- Still, sometimes inaccuracies do slip in (the speech of one elderly official in the first film, he overdid it with his propaganda).
- In some places, there is excessive drama (people standing with their mouths open, looking at the reactor's internals, seriously?).
- The image of the scientists from the cleanup team was generalized into one woman... No, I understand that the budget is not unlimited, but they could have taken at least a couple of real people and mentioned the others in passing, that they are working behind the scenes.
Overall, the drawbacks are not so significant compared to the advantages. A very good series, probably 9/10 (but I don't have a large comparative database of series).
