Before the start of the tournament itself, various important aspects should be discussed and decided upon. And it is better not to do this somewhere behind the scenes, in correspondence via messengers or email, but rather in a prominent place – for example, here. Then everything that needs to be resolved or clarified will be addressed as soon as possible.
Have you ever participated in offline tournaments before? As a player and/or as an organizer? On which resources (sites)?
I would like more specifics, starting with the rules. Are you familiar with the tournament rules of well-known sites: here and on HeroesPortal? Will your tournament use these rules, some of them, or other different ones?
What will be provided to players: a map and a starting save file (checked by the organizer for problematic/unsuccessful/controversial points)? Where will the map come from: a known map from one of the map repositories or a new one created by you specifically for the tournament? What is the size of the map? How complex will it be (what can it be compared to?) What is the win condition (defeat all opponents, capture everything / defeat a specific hero / ...), and what is the criterion for evaluating the result (the smallest number of days passed / the largest sum of skills / the largest amount of gold / ...)?
I am writing this because I might participate myself, but I would like to have a fairly clear idea of the level of difficulty.
And I already have negative experience from one amateur tournament in which I participated several years ago on another site. There, the organizer did not think through some very important aspects, as a result, players played completely different versions of the map, and no one even thought about a starting save file before the start of the tournament. Also, the rules were not clearly defined.
Ah, I've already seen an answer to one question by rereading the tournament announcement in the magazine:

Be sure to include your nickname, under which you will appear in the tournament table, your contact information (your email address) and the race you prefer to play in the first stage in your letter.

That is, there are already different conditions for different players. Too bad. Do you at least imagine how you will compare the results of such playthroughs and determine the winners?
