The head of the local guild branch was a half-elf named Gray Yildun. The receptionist led Lex to him and allowed them to talk.

Lex tried to follow all the proper rules of etiquette and spoke when he was allowed.
-- My name is Lex Kind. In the past, I seem to have had dealings with a trading guild, although not with you, and I was not a member. I have two requests. First, I would like to join the guild. Second... Well. I understand that in my position, without any starting capital, I cannot expect much, but if you have any area that needs a competent manager, or even just a small job that matches my qualifications as a merchant and producer, I would be honored to take it on.
