I don't understand what's so shameful to you about the word "please". Apparently, you have some painful memories associated with this word that dictate a negative perception of it. And you certainly have no right to accuse me of nitpicking words, since you yourself, with all these passages, have latched onto a single unremarkable word "please". That is your very own, and only your, word on the pedestal — the word "please".
So, by default — there is nothing shameful or humiliating about asking someone for something. If you think otherwise, then, for the record, that's purely your personal problem. And you shouldn't try to shift it onto others: sort yourself out and deal with your own issues.
Once again. In the context of the HeroesWorld forum. No one personally owes you anything. When no one owes you anything, all you can do is ask. And when I register for a Tournament — I am precisely asking the organizers to register me. I am not paying them for their work — they are not obligated to me in any way and owe me nothing. And I am grateful to them, and I express that very gratitude, for what it's worth, with that same word "please". And that does not humiliate me as a person. By using my "please", I acknowledge the objective value of their labor, without humiliating myself in the slightest.
