It's not as good as the first film. There's less psychology and detective work, and more action. However, it looks quite realistic and is sad in its own way. It gives the impression that once the characters have sunk into this lifestyle, they have no other choice but to continue down that path. And although you want to admire Michael's talent (less so than in the first film), you still feel very sad that things turned out this way.
The storyline with Vito was more positive in this regard, of course.
