- Heroes 5 of Might and Magic

The situation is getting serious. Here's a reprint of the news from Heroic Corner, which has also joined the campaign. Today, Sunday, January 29th, at 5 PM Moscow time (2 PM GMT), the administrators of major Heroes of Might and Magic fan sites around the world signed the News Suppression Pact in protest against the premature release of Heroes of Might and Magic 5. The pact was signed by: Age of Heroes (international), Archangel Castle (French), Behemoth’s Lair (Polish), Castle Gobs (international), Celestial Heavens (international), Drachenwald (German), The Genie’s Lamp (international), Guardian’s Grove (international), Heroic Corner (Russian), La Torre de Marfil (Spanish), and The Oracle League (international). All other HoMM sites are also invited to join the Pact. We, representatives of the online HoMM Community who have signed the Pact, firmly believe that if Heroes of Might and Magic 5 is released early in March 2005, it will not be well made enough. Admiring the HoMM series and supporting the current potential of Heroes 5, we will not tolerate the release of an unfinished and unbalanced game. In protest, we will no longer publish news or update the content on our sites. In addition, information about Heroes of Might and Magic 5 will be removed from our sites. We ask Ubisoft to officially confirm that the release of Heroes of Might and Magic 5 will be postponed to a later date, allowing sufficient time for the development of a balanced and fully functional game. We do not consider the announcement of a delay made on Gamespot to be sufficient until Ubisoft gives official confirmation. Our protest has been widely supported by the gaming community: in less than three days, over 1500 people have signed the SaveHeroes.org Petition, and the SaveHeroes.org website has had 30,000 unique visitors. Over the past week, our websites have received over 150,000 visitors. We encourage all fans and enthusiasts of Heroes of Might and Magic to join our protest by signing the SaveHeroes.org Petition and stopping posting on the official Ubisoft forums, switching to our forums instead.
