It would be nice to think that working out at home is the same as working out at the gym...
Well, when you go to the gym, you're already motivated to work out and make up for the money you spent.
But if you have a trainer at home, like Ney, you shouldn't have any motivation problems. They'll make sure of it.
From a socialization point of view, the gym isn't the best place, in my humble opinion. Everyone is very focused and tired, and so are you. Everyone works out on their own equipment, and there's nothing to talk about, so you don't really talk to anyone. In this respect, more specialized or, even more so, team sports should be much, much better.
