Why? Later, you could figure it out, either by force, or by swaying some people to your side, or in some other way. Conduct normal negotiations between the factions, for example. Maybe form something like a council of selected individuals who have access to information, but don't allow any single faction to have access based on some agreement with the factions – this option is possible if there is some kind of "nuclear weapon" and the risks are too great.
In short, I don't see anything particularly non-RP about it, but it's up to you.
