Regarding the matter at hand – what's the point of a GSC when there's IRMG? And what's the point of tailoring a tournament to beginners who, as has been noted, are at a level where they can't even get out of the group stage? They can practice in a regular season. Just to be clear, this is just my humble opinion, and I don't want to offend anyone.
