The Shape of Water (2017) RUSSIANS! It's all the Russians! They snuck into the film studio and ruined this movie!! Anyway, I don't know. It's banal, vulgar, and unsettling. There was one cool character who carried the film, and they stupidly killed him off. 4/10 Tales from Earthsea (Japan, 2006) I wanted to watch a Miyazaki film, but it turned out to be a lesser Miyazaki! I didn't even know there was a Goro Miyazaki. I realized it when some weird stuff started happening on the screen. No, actually, I even liked it; it's much more interesting than the movie "The Wizard of Earthsea" (I definitely saw it, but for some reason, I can't find any mention of it online; maybe it was just that bad...). It's just that the directing was clearly lacking. The plot is excellent (the dialogue is not quite as excellent), the animation is excellent (well, as always, these guys are great), but the presentation is disjointed and nothing is clear. Still, it's a good fairy tale; let's say I understood what they were trying to tell us. 7/10 Rain Man (USA, 1988). I'm continuing to watch masterpieces that I missed. Well, what more can I say about this film? 9/10, a touching, family-oriented American classic. Doctor Strange (USA, 2016) Well, it's not bad. Although the reviews I heard were much more laudatory than what I saw. Probably because I'm generally not very fond of all sorts of mysticism and esotericism. Overrated. 6/10
