Random removals, mass removals, wards... You can simply outpace it in terms of tempo; the frog is very slow to ramp up. I've never had problems with it. And when I tried to play with it for a while, I kept losing.
I think you feel this way because you have some biases, and it's indeed difficult to deal with the frog... But this is more of an exception than the rule.
