In general, it would be good to address this issue: take all similar graphical mods, choose the best one from them (voting is perfect for that). If some game textures have no alternative in the mods, and there is a need to improve them, then draw them independently – in principle, I can help with this because I was planning something similar myself.
As far as I know, the author of PRT, “xuxo,” is working on project 5.5, and he made the latest update to his textures in August 2016. However, the goal of Remake is maximum performance, so I am cautious about new textures because the original textures are not bad, and thoughtlessly replacing them with new ones will lead to increased hardware requirements.
