Poll: Preferences when choosing skills in Heroes of Might and Magic IV.
Ha, besides the useful Nature spells and curses, there's also demonology. That's quite something. You can summon poisonous creatures, ice demons, and a whole bunch of other things, and eventually even devils.
But why summon units of Death when you can summon units of Nature?
And in general, some strange ideas are being discussed about 4-5 magic skills. Definitely not a good idea. If you have a powerful mage, you need to protect him in battle so that he can cast spells for as long as possible, which means combat skills and magic resistance are a must-have. And the hero shouldn't be alone, but at least two (plus a well-developed lord in the castle). As they say, it's better to have 3 heroes of level 17 than one of level 23. So, if it's not a campaign or some special map, there will be enough experience for the combat skills, the main magic skill, and one more (a little bit + altars, universities, libraries, etc.). For me, it was usually Order. With the second hero, there are also options. You can take a tactics build with combat skills (while he's alive, the troops have a significant bonus), and a Life mage works well with an Order mage.
