By the way, yes, I left my normal, well-planned life, which I had mapped out for a couple of years, somewhere back in 2013. And now, at least once a month, the question arises: "What am I doing here, and how did I end up here?" Not because I end up in bad places, but because they are too unexpected. And it's happening again now. I'm trying to trace the chain of events that led me to this new Asian paradise (not sarcasm), and I can't figure out how it happened.
Apparently, in my current paradise, cafes open at 10, and you can order something more substantial than coffee around 11. And there won't be a refrigerator or a stove in the apartment for another month. And I'm already hungry by 8. What can I do so that I don't get distracted by this? Maybe I should try a Japanese diet, where you can only have a cup of coffee in the morning, and a proper meal starts with lunch.

I've probably watched several thousand Google photos in the last two months. About 80% are duplicates. The rest either don't fit or are too complicated. The same flower petals need to be curved in two planes, with a separate matrix for each... And the choice of available materials is limited - acrylic stone, plywood.
The whole point is to create something unusual with minimal costs. Buying it is not an option by definition.
And this, the shape of the lamp in the photo is not necessarily final. You can twist it however you want - even a sphere, even a swastika...

It seemed to me that Nebos and Kosh suggested weaving real climbing flowers and vines into it. By the way, it's an original idea that fits your needs. The only thing I don't understand is how to spray water on such flowers. Aluminum doesn't corrode, but electricity is scary. Although you could weave in artificial vines and wash them off the dust every six months.

Or sheet metal? Although it probably does corrode, and after six months, you might end up with a not-so-beautiful lampshade with rust stains.
Well, I can come up with some more ideas in the spirit of "cheap and cheerful."
1. An old umbrella + some kind of fabric for stretch ceilings (if the spokes can withstand such abuse). 2. From a plastic bottle, about 6 liters, using a soldering iron (so as not to dull the knife), a gas burner, and the like, you cut out and shape the desired form. The main thing is that the light bulb doesn't melt the middle of this structure later. If anything, I've only experimented with small bottles, so I can't guarantee the result on a large one.
