Addiction is not the same as harm. It's a specific case. Yes, this particular harm is quite exaggerated; I know a million stories about people who simply forgot about cigarettes due to various life circumstances and eventually got rid of this habit altogether. But the main harm from smoking is the smoke in your lungs. It's like breathing in a forest fire every day; it doesn't bode well.
