I want to buy myself some kind of medallion or pendant so that I can later, like an anime hero, make some kind of promise to myself with it. Then, every time I feel down, I'll hold it in my hand, and dramatic music will play in my head.

Nah, if you come up with something for yourself, it won't be the same. You need a dying friend/girlfriend/father/mother to give you the medallion – that's when it will be powerful.
