Dark Ages

After leading the mage to the "guardhouse," Chen shared his thoughts on the matter. According to him, the killer was very fast and strong, and well-prepared. The incident occurred at night; Chen was the patrol commander, and he personally witnessed an unknown figure in a flowing cloak approach the palace at great speed, instantly demolish a wall, and commit the heinous act. Presumably, after that, he escaped from the other side: the wall was also destroyed there. However, Chen didn't personally see this, nor did he see the emperor's death, where the emperor's spine was broken.
As an officer of the palace guard, Chen knows about the existence of a certain intelligence agency serving the late emperor, which was supposed to provide additional security.
