Mountain Defenders are the most numerous troop type of the dwarf army and its backbone. Thanks to sturdy dwarven armor, they can withstand attacks from enemies far stronger than themselves.

Warriors are battle-hardened soldiers whose task is to protect other troops. Using their sturdy shields, Warriors can create an impenetrable wall to reduce the damage dealt by the enemy. The more distance an enemy must travel to strike, the weaker its attack will be.

Spear Throwers are one of the trump cards of the dwarf army. The shock from their attack and their skill with spears give them a chance to reduce the enemy's "Speed" and "Initiative".

Spear Throwers who have mastered their formidable weapon become Spear Masters. Like Spear Throwers, Spear Masters reduce the enemy's "Speed" and "Initiative", and they are not penalized in melee combat for having a throwing weapon skill, making them very dangerous opponents.

No army can exist without cavalry, which can easily catch up to and strike the enemy. Dwarves ride tamed bears, whose relatively low speed is compensated by strength and endurance.

Bear Lords are elite riders in the dwarf army. Their mighty beasts are clad in heavy armor and are very enduring. Additionally, bears can fall into a battle frenzy, striking enemies with their paws and thereby reducing their "Initiative".

Bonecrushers

Bonecrushers are recognized masters of fistfighting. Instead of ordinary weapons, they use special brass knuckles and the strength of their muscles — enough to deal serious damage to an opponent. Their devotion to their martial art is so great that spells controlling will and mind have no effect on them.

Berserkers

Berserkers are very similar to Bonecrushers, but armed with knife-knuckles. Berserkers can fall into a battle frenzy, losing "Defense" but increasing "Attack". When this happens, Berserkers attack the nearest creature without receiving a counterattack.

Rune Priests

Rune Priests are a special caste of dwarves. Dwarves with golden eyes — the sign of the dwarven god, Arkata — are recruited from a young age and turned into battle mages. Priests have high resistance to magical attacks and use magic themselves to strike enemies from afar. To enhance the effect of their attacks, they can mark a victim with the "Mark of Fire".

Some very skilled Rune Priests, having undergone initiation rituals in the most secret halls of the Deep Flame clan, become Priests of Arkata. Their fire attack hits a squad and burns creatures standing nearby.

Thanes

Thanes are not only great warriors but also good mages. A Thane can teleport himself into the enemy camp and cause a slaughter there with his axe. Additionally, his axe releases lightning, striking nearby enemies. Lightning causes no harm to Thanes themselves.

Jarls

Thanes who dedicate their lives to harnessing the power of mountain storms become Jarls. Once per battle, a Jarl can strike a chosen target and adjacent squads with a powerful bolt of lightning.

Fire Dragons

Fire Dragons are the children of Arkata, the Fire Dragon and patron god of dwarves. Like their distant kin — black dragons — these magical creatures can attack enemies with fire breath and respond to attacks with bursts of flame. Naturally, Fire Dragons themselves are immune to the effects of fire.

Lava Dragons

A Lava Dragon looks as if it is truly made of stone. Stone-like scales are interspersed with glowing veins, giving these flaming giants almost impenetrable defense.
