Elusive dark elf assassins are like incarnations of the shadow of Malassa herself. They can approach an enemy unnoticed and plunge a sharpened blade into their back. Assassins prefer dark clothing and sharp, serrated daggers.

Dark elves highly value the art of killing. Special respect is given to those who know how to act stealthily, catching their victims by surprise. Dark huntresses master this art best. To deliver a fatal blow to their victim, they inconspicuously slip past any guards, masterfully avoiding enemy traps and dodging swords and spells.

Troglodytes are lower spirits of the Earth. Thousands of years ago they were condemned to exist in the material world, and since then they have inhabited the deepest dungeons of Ashan. Blind and possessing only the beginnings of intelligence, troglodytes tirelessly dig the earth, creating ever new caves and tunnels, as if following a design known only to them.

As is known, the Dragon Gods have many faces. Driven mad in the dungeons, the Naga priestesses were exiled from the Lotus Empire, and now they are called medusas. Most medusas worship the Doombringer, the destructive aspect of Shalassa, the goddess of water. Those medusas that inhabit Ygg-Chall are quite proficient in dark magic.

Minotaurs created by the mages of the Seven Cities are beastmen, just like harpies and centaurs. These half-human, half-bull creatures were meant to protect the centaurs, fighting on the front lines as shock infantry. The diplomatic gesture of the crimson mages of Al-Rubit surprised many. The mages gifted a thousand loyal minotaurs to the dark elves, thereby angering their neighbors from the Silver Cities. The minotaurs soon swore loyalty to the elves and Malassa.

Minotaurs that previously protected their mage masters have become guards for the dark elves as well. In Ygg-Chall, killing is a way of life (and, moreover, a way of death), so hiring a couple of minotaurs for protection is common practice there.

Hydras are arguably the most terrifying magical creatures in Ashan. They are huge serpents that transformed during the legendary era under the influence of released pure magic. Thanks to their many Heads, hydras can attack several opponents at once. Dark elves have learned to tame cave hydras that inhabit the Abyss.

The cave wyverns of Ygg-Chall are creatures with a scaled feline body, a dragon's head, and huge wings similar to bat wings. Wyverns are useful in times of siege, as their caustic saliva is safe for warriors, but completely dissolves wood and stone.

After dozens of years spent in the depths of the lands of Ashan, some troglodytes came to possess a number of qualities inherent to the local stones and minerals. This made them more resistant to all types of physical damage. Such troglodytes came to be called Chthonians.

There are as many species of hydras as there are gods. Dragons. Some resemble serpents, others have legs like reptiles. The number of heads also varies. Dark hydras are capable of healing themselves by draining the life force of their victims.

The Faceless are the most mysterious of all followers of the Dragon Gods. Almost nothing is known about them, and few have managed to see them; more often it is merely a fleeting image caught out of the corner of one's eye—a phantom that causes déjà vu and a strange sensation that someone is watching you. They rarely participate in battles, preferring to hide in the shadows and assist those fighting.

When the dark elves decided to reclaim the Library of the Faceless from Sheio and make it the center of their kingdom, rebellious nagas stood in their way. The squad was led by Daimyo Oshiro the Cursed herself. The nagas were defeated, and Oshiro's people became part of the dark elves' kingdom. Medusa sorceresses easily found their place among the inhabitants of Ygg-Chall.

Shadow Dragons are avatars of Malassa herself, the goddess of darkness. Their bodies are like onyx, and their wings are covered in purple spheres, each of which is an Eye of Malassa, capable of discerning the shades of darkness—that which opposes the light, and that which lurks in the soul. It is said that it is from these shimmering spheres that shadow watchers emerge.

The Faceless surpass angels in the magical arts, but they cannot compare to their main enemy in physical strength and combat mastery. It is not always possible to bypass an opponent using cunning and tricks, so, to level the playing field, the Faceless created Striders. These living armors of twilight steel bear a certain resemblance to mages' golems and gargoyles.

As is known, the speech of dark elves is like sweet honey with a drop of slow poison. But dark trackers prefer not to throw words to the wind and act lightning-fast. They are fearless and strike fear into their enemies. In the first Decades of the War under the mountain, they fought using chakrams, but since chakrams often fell into the hands of dwarves, who used this deadly weapon against elves, trackers now prefer crossbows.
