Cocoon: Aru Natsu no Shoujo-tachi yori

I couldn't ignore the existence of this full-length film. It features World War II, and the specific episode was chosen wonderfully and to my taste, and the visuals from the poster and the very first frames were captivating, especially the landscapes. The runtime of exactly one hour made me think that the author adheres to the truth, that "brevity is the soul of wit," and probably wouldn't drag out the action just for the sake of it.

As high as my expectations were, the disappointment was even greater. They twisted everything, made it strange and unrealistic, and, in my opinion, completely ruined everything they could. Were the students supposed to treat soldiers at the front and bury the dead? Why not have them carry logs and dig trenches while they're at it, what's the difference? Are the students supposed to be shot at? The shelling will come from a meaningless direction and immediately hit someone, with the very first shell, even though the chances are one in a million. It seems that only Americans are stationed on the entire island – who are they fighting? Did they specifically stay in the occupied territories, dug in with machine guns, to shoot at little girls? And if there is a Japanese army somewhere, where is it? Or are they also fond of shooting at girls? What is happening, why are there no safe places on this stupid island?
Why are they shooting at the forest? Why did the teacher act so strangely? Why did the girl turn out to be a boy? Why did everyone die when, in reality, 90% survived? Why? Why? Why?!?!

By the time this thing is given as a gift, I will already be tired of pretending to be sad or interested.

I was so annoyed that I gave it a 5/10. I need to rewatch Grave of the Fireflies and calm down.

P.S. The full-length film is based on a manga. Perhaps the latter is better.

P.P.S. Regarding women in war, there is a great comic about Lotta Svärd, and it's really good.

Hotaru no Haka

Well-directed, the moral is conveyed clearly, but otherwise – terrible. Pure negativity without a single positive, fun, or inspiring element.

I shed a few tears because of the wholesomeness; I really enjoyed it.

Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki

The Wolf Children left me with mixed feelings, but overall, it was great.

How does he manage to both run the experience and watch new anime...?

In the second picture, HeroesWorld for some reason turns ".jpg" into ".j pg", so we'll have to do without it.

What's so new about it? The second one, I don't know, but the first and third are ancient.

It’s unlikely that Astral meant the release date by “new.”

Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara



I like the old-fashioned jokes in this anime, but overall, it's like a cheaper version of Gintama. It's lively, but somehow just a bit above average, 7/10.

Josee to Tora to Sakana-tachi

Good stuff. Besides the generally pleasant, homey feeling I got from watching it, I also liked the main character's growth as a person.

Here is a very good tsundere, in my opinion. Moreover, this prickly personality type is not just for fanservice; the reasons are clearly shown: a reclusive lifestyle with overprotective grandmother, a feeling of inadequacy, an inability to talk to people, and a constant feeling that everyone around you is your enemy and wants to offend you. But all of this grows and changes, and she turns out to be an incredibly reliable and understanding girl in the end.
On the other hand, we have the main character's second friend, a scuba diver, and with her, everything is the opposite. At first glance, she seems like a responsive and bright girl, but in reality, she is an egoist, enjoying other people's misfortunes and looking for opportunities for herself.

I don't know how else to praise it without spoilers, but here it is.

Fate/Strange Fake

Lots of cool characters and overall a good addition to the franchise, but it still lacks some substance, and towards the end of the season, it became a bit monotonous in places. Did you know that in my childhood, Richard I was both my favorite historical figure and my favorite fictional character? He was portrayed as very charismatic here, so I'm satisfied with that aspect as well.
