No, of course not. It’s just part of the storyline. Tieru dies, there’s a cutscene, and the mission ends.

Here is my Faidaen at the start of the mission, with all Light magic spells available:

And this is the end of the mission (without artifacts). I played on Veteran difficulty. The mission is very easy to complete; after obtaining the Unicorn Bow, I only deployed 67 archers in battles, occasionally placing the archers in the corner and protecting them with Death Dancers in battles against Undead and Nightmares. At the end, all losses were compensated for by resurrection. Throughout the mission, I lost five archers and approximately eight dancers when I didn't have time to resurrect them (again, in a battle with Nightmares, due to the dancers' fear). I never found the artifacts for the additional quest; my logic suggests they were in the left part of the map on a small island, as that's the only area I didn't check because I was too lazy.

P.S. I don't know how it is on Hero difficulty, but on Veteran, I don't think it's possible to reach level 30 here, even with the experience from the additional artifact quest. I killed everyone except for a small island on the surface, but I don't think there's enough experience there to level up.

Interesting mission; Faidaen did a decent job buffing the enemies on the upgrade levels, although it still wasn't enough for the final mission of the 5th game. I completed it with the hero without any problems. Even for the Warlock, the guards at the neutral creatures were 10 times tougher.
