History of Ufology

In most sources, the emergence of ufology is attributed to 1947, when pilot Kenneth Arnold reported that while flying over the Cascade Mountains in his aircraft, he saw nine strange flying objects moving at an unimaginable supersonic speed at the time. The news of "flying saucers" (we also owe this term to Kenneth Arnold) quickly spread throughout America, as a result of which, almost every day, new witnesses to UFOs appeared. Soon, there were so many of them that the US authorities raised the alarm: were the Russians launching new aircraft into the American sky? Projects "Grudge," "Sign," "Blue Book," etc. were created to study the phenomenon.
It gained momentum thanks to the "Roswell incident" of 1947, when information appeared about the crash of a "flying saucer" and about beings allegedly found there, presumed to be its pilots, on US territory.
After the phenomenon of UFOs began to be studied, it turned out that "flying saucers" did not suddenly begin to appear in the second half of the twentieth century. Information about strange flying lights and objects also came in during World War II and in the Victorian era. Medieval church chronicles and ancient chronicles also mention celestial signs.

Ufological Sciences

• Contactology is a scientific field that studies the search for radio signals from extraterrestrial civilizations, traces of engineering and astro-engineering activities in Space, and is based on the Drake formula.
• Exobiology is a branch of space biology that studies a range of problems related to the possibility of the existence of extraterrestrial life forms.

Non-academic Ufological Sciences

• Theoretical Ufology is a branch of ufology that deals with the problem of the multiplicity of inhabited worlds and forms of life, as well as the study of information fields of Life and Intelligence, recorded in new bioenergetic and psychophysical research and phenomena.
• Paleovisitology is a common practice among supporters of the extraterrestrial version of the origin of UFOs, searching for traces of paleocontact. For example, some ufologists find traces of aliens in the Bible. For example, the "wheel with eyes" (Ezekiel 1:16-20) is interpreted as "flying saucers." Cherubim are also interpreted as flying vehicles, similar to helicopters.
• Eniology (from: ENIO – energy-information exchange and logy) is a new field of knowledge that studies phenomenal phenomena (biolocation, telekinesis, ufology, clairvoyance, telepathy, astrology) and processes of energy-information exchange in living and "non-living" nature. The term was proposed by Academician of the RAMN V. P. Kaznacheev.
• Cryptozoology – some cryptozoological phenomena, such as the appearance of Mothman or Chupacabra, are inexplicably attributed to the UFO phenomenon.
