check out my ISO file of the game for Windows 7 (it worked perfectly on my old machine). It's version 3.0, and there's no Cyrillic in the game's directory. The PROBLEM is with the editor. 1) It doesn't edit maps (it doesn't change existing maps or their names). 2) It doesn't create maps (it doesn't create map files; it somehow saves them in a way that the file is absent from the system and can't be seen, except through the quick search panel, where the file appears to be corrupted – it's empty, has no size, but has a location where it doesn't actually exist, and the file isn't hidden because I can see hidden system folders). You can only change the name through the editor itself. Moreover, the editor can open and edit this non-existent file and even save changes, indicating the file size, although Windows says there is no size. In other words, the "maps" folder is empty in the file explorer and has no size, but the editor sees files in the folder that it's working with, and even if you delete the folder through the file explorer, the editor still works with that folder and doesn't even know that it's been deleted. Please, Heroes gurus, tell me how to fix this weirdness. I've reinstalled the game and used programs to clean the registry, but it didn't help

I solved the problem. If anyone has a similar issue, try reinstalling the game from an SSD to a hard drive, or from the primary drive to a secondary drive (e.g., drive D: and the game folder). Also, try different images; in my case, an image from an older Windows version worked, while downloaded images from the internet didn't. I don't know how changing the drive helped, but if you have corrupted maps, you can't delete them using the regular file explorer; you need a proper editor to do that. And before starting the final installation, use a program like Revo Uninstaller to clean the registry, and then perform a full installation (i.e., install the game using the program, then uninstall and clean it), and install it in a clean location.
