Regarding the Boomerang map – for the 3rd season of Game of Thrones, I planned to make a change to it – remove the relics from the central treasure rooms.

Because players were complaining about the dispute it created – a player who rushed into the treasure room at turn 121 often managed to collect the free relics, and the second player was left with nothing.

Without the relics, you don't have to rush into the treasure room as much.

And if we're talking about new templates, I also recommend considering the Apocalypse template; it doesn't seem to have been played much in tournaments, but I've seen a couple of streams on it, and the gameplay seemed quite interesting to me.

In my opinion, it's difficult to come up with a non-mirrored L-sized map that would be balanced. So, no matter which one you choose, the result will be the same. You can take Black-n-Blue, for example.

Mini-Nosta is a map based on the principle of "neither for you, nor for me." This explains its "popularity" (frequent choice) in tournaments. And it will always be this way when players who prefer different map types meet.

So, are there no other templates like "neither for you, nor for me" in nature? Is MiniNosta the only unique one?

I wasn't talking about perfect balance. I was talking more about the spectacle that the tournament organizers wanted, combined with a compromise.

For something to work with a template, it needs to be played a lot.
