Few people remember this topic anymore, but the post is related to it in one way or another, so I'll post the information here
(and then I'll cleverly duplicate it in the forum, haha). Basically, last year, after moving to Voronezh, I was having a terrible time finding a job, so I decided not to waste a lot of free time and return to this project that I started here more than four years ago
(although the idea is much older, it just seemed to me at some point that it would be good to use it in Heroes).
So, while my husband was working hard, and I wasn't getting any responses to job applications, the majority of my time was spent on what I enjoy – working on text
(fortunately, my experience as a journalist turned out to be quite useful). Specifically, on the Traveler's Diary, a rough and flawed version of which can be found in this thread.
As a result, after rewriting everything from scratch, but generally keeping the same characters and the same world concept, I got a slightly different version, which not only resulted in reworking and expanding the events that were described here, but also adding new ones. Then, I even had to move some of the material that was originally planned to be put at the beginning to the second manuscript
(spoiler: it was also written, and in my opinion, it turned out to be tougher and better than the first draft).
Anyway, in the end, the three months spent writing and completely editing the text resulted in me sending the material to Eksmo, which, a couple of months after receiving it, offered me a cooperation agreement. First, in electronic format through Litres, and then as the process goes. And so, I had to start waiting.
To be honest, I had no idea what would happen. But finally, the first trial publication came out today (or rather, an hour ago).
I don't know yet whether to be happy or not, because although I put my soul into this text, I don't know what the future holds for my work
(not to mention the fact that I really like the second part more, which I wrote over the summer and signed a contract for less than a week after sending it).
Anyway, if I can put it briefly, my first attempt is
here. However, I'm not here so much to offer you to read it, but to thank you for the support you gave to this idea a long time ago. I have no idea how significant all this will be in the literary sense, but personally, it means a lot to me. So, I came here not to "brag"
(because there is nothing to brag about yet), but to thank those who didn't write me "your text is garbage," but supported me with upvotes.
And yes, I apologize for not posting the text earlier. Before I finished writing it, I didn't know if it would work out or not. And then I signed a contract that prohibited me from posting the finished text on third-party resources. So, I had to wait until everything worked out in order to finally share it with those who are always there.
