The problem started unexpectedly and without any apparent cause. During gameplay, when the turn ended, a message started appearing: "Failed to autosave." When I tried to save manually, a folder selection window appeared directly in the game. It displayed the "data" and "maps" folders. The "save" button was inactive. I exited the game, went to the game directory, and realized that there were no files resembling saves there. I created a "saves" folder, went back into the game, and saw that I still couldn't save to it. Reinstalling the game didn't help.

As far as I remember, the save files/autosaves are stored in the "games" folder, but not in the "saves" folder.
