“Hero-Artist” Contest Rules:
1. To participate in the contest, you need to create a poster for the game Heroes of Might and Magic V. The concept, plot, and composition of the poster are entirely up to the author. You can depict a panoramic battle, a single warrior, or even a peaceful rest in the steppes. The main thing is that the poster's plot should correspond to the overall concept and mood of the Heroes of Might and Magic series, and graphically and stylistically, the poster should be in the spirit of the fifth installment of the series. The maximum number of objects on the poster should correspond to their prototypes from the game Heroes of Might and Magic V, examples of which can be found on the game's website in the "Graphics" section http://www.nival.com/homm5_ru/art/, http://www.nival.com/homm5_ru/art/model/.
If you have any questions about the contest, its rules, or other aspects of its execution, you can ask them on the official Nival Interactive forum. If you want to discuss your work with other professional artists, including intermediate versions of your poster, you can do so on the guro-games.com forum.
2. Works for the contest are accepted in any graphic format.
3. The contest will be held from October 12 to November 20. Works are accepted until November 20, inclusive, at contest@nival.com, with "Hero-Artist" in the subject line. The results of the contest will be announced on the Nival Interactive company website on December 1.
4. The best works will receive the following prizes:
First place - $2000
Second place - $1500
Third place - $1000
In addition, the 10 best works that do not win prizes will receive an incentive prize of $100. Also, an open vote will be held on the Nival Interactive company forum, and the author of the work that receives the most votes will be awarded the audience award - a Sony PSP portable game console.
5. Only works that have not been published anywhere before are accepted for the contest. By submitting a work to the contest, the author thereby agrees to its publication on the Nival Interactive website. Nival Interactive reserves the right to conclude an agreement on the transfer of copyright to the contest works for their use in commercial purposes.
6. The company is not responsible for possible interruptions and errors in the operation of electronic and regular mail.
7. From the moment of receiving the prize, any participant in the Contest is responsible for paying all applicable taxes and other mandatory payments established by the current legislation of the Russian Federation.
8. The company reserves the right to publish additional information about the contest, explaining its content and purpose.
9. Participation in the Contest means the participant's full agreement with the terms of its execution

The art contest for the best poster for the game Heroes of Might and Magic V, announced by Nival Interactive on October 12, has received a tremendous response from fans of the series – both professional artists and amateurs. And this is understandable, because the fantastic world of the Heroes of Might and Magic series can inspire imagination and talent to spread its wings and present its vision of this amazing universe in all its glory! Now the contest is approaching its logical conclusion. However, not all artists have time to complete what they started and realize all their ideas. Due to numerous requests from the contestants, we are extending the submission deadline until November 27, inclusive. We hope that the additional week will allow the authors to complete and refine their works to a quality that satisfies them! The results of the contest and the winners will be announced on the Nival Interactive website on December 8, 2005, and from December 1 to 7, a vote will be held on the Nival Interactive website to determine the author of the work that will receive the audience award – a portable Sony PSP game console.
