Барон "Vampires"
Отдай свои прошлые сны,
В сомненьях себя обрети,
В бешеном танце душа кружится!
Не думай, что будет потом,
Здесь и сейчас мы живем,
Стань хоть на миг сам собой, слышишь!
New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?

I still think that shooting and resistance are questionable advantages for a Barbarian, or at least not long-lasting ones. I agree that a large number of units is a big plus, but these two skills are unlikely to be very useful, especially in a battle against a hero, rather than against neutral creatures.
Upgraded ranged attack will be very helpful. You need to eliminate weak units in the front rows. This is a significant advantage. As for numbers... well, you need to build up your forces, and that requires money.

I see the Barbarian (thanks to its ranged attack and combat skills) as a super unit, not as a hero. I don't think ranged attack is a big advantage compared to, say, a Chaos or Haven Mage. But resistance is a different story...

A super unit could then be any hero. Here's a super mage:D (from Haven)
But still, the Barbarian's resistance and ranged attack will give the Chaos or Haven mage a good beating.

No... a mage, at least, is versatile, but a Barbarian hero is not. He is as simple as three rubles and as uninspired as a rake. As a simple unit, he is, of course, strong... when upgraded, but still just a unit. A super unit.

Barbarians are a force. A crude and often unintelligent force. And therefore, they have plenty of weaknesses.
The Barbarian army should have received bonuses to magic resistance when a Barbarian hero was present; otherwise, for all other factions, the hero is an important element, but for Barbarians, it's just another additional unit.
But you don't need to protect him, unlike those mages! And if you "add" a couple of tactical skills to the Barbarian, then he becomes quite useful (+1 morale). Barbarians are only useless at the beginning, but later they become a very good assistant to the army.

After that, all heroes are good, and it's very useful for a mage to have Battle as their second skill, so that at least their defense is leveled up.
You need to level up a lot to have a super mage and a stone golem:D
