I see the Barbarian, thanks to its ranged attack and combat skills, as a super unit, not as a hero. I don't think ranged attacks are a major advantage compared to, say, a Chaos or Haven Mage. But resistance is a different story...
But still, the Barbarian's resistance and ranged attack will give a Chaos or Haven Mage a good beating. :)
